into是investigation需要的介词，表示对什么进行调查，语法上是定语。
汉语也英语结构不一模一样，特别是动词的同源名词常翻译成动词。这是非常自然的。一定不可以对号入座。非限制性定语从句常翻译为汉语的状语或并列句。
